National Forests next to Rocky Mountain National Park

The 266,714 acres in Rocky Mountain National Park are adjacent to 253,059 acres of wilderness, administered by the Forest Service.  Wildlife and trails cross Park boundaries.

Mountain bikes and dogs are allowed on Forest Service trails, and campgrounds and picnic areas are often available when the Park is full.   Reservations are made online through Recreation.gov
