Pioneer Music for Kids: Colorado and the West presented by musician Julie Davis. Join us at 2:00 p.m. for this multi-cultural look at Colorado and its colorful history through songs and stories from the Old West. You'll see Colorado through the eyes of the homesteaders, miners and early settlers of different cultures who sculpted the history of our region. Stories and music include Native American, Hispanic, Anglo, Irish, Italian, German and more. A longstanding member of Swallow Hill and the Colorado folk community, Julie Davis is a nationally-known storyteller and one of the country's leading autoharp players. She performs and teaches at festivals, concerts, and in schools and universities throughout the country. In addition to solo performances, she is the artistic director for the Swallow Hill Traveling Troupe, an integral part of Swallow Hill's outreach program to schools and communities. Julie is also a member of the world music band Safe Harbor. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Free and open to the public, recommended for kids and their families.
