Painting the Parks
7th Annual Estes Park Plein Air 2008-Painting the Parks, Estes Park, CO, beauty and inspiration go hand-in-hand when painters come to the Estes Valley and the Northern Rockies to paint the parks this summer. Artists from across the nation to come together to paint on-location from Aug. 9 through 22, choosing what locations and moment in time to paint, including Rocky Mountain National Park and forest lands, St. Vrain and Big Thompson River canyons, views along the Peak to Peak Scenic Highway, and/or people and places in Estes Park. Given a 50 mile radius in which to paint, some artists may choose to documents cityscapes found in the various front range urban areas as well. From start to finish the public can get involved during the "paint out" portion of the event.
