Stone Sculpting with Shaine Lewthwaite. Shaine is originally from South Africa and wants to introduce you to the 'wild magic' of stone sculpting. This 5 day workshop will cover stone sculpting starting with safety and tool usage and ending with polishing your completed piece. Alabaster will be used and provided, along with basic hand tools. No power tools will be used. Students should not bring any visual materials with them as I would like them to carve from the energy of the stone..."letting the stone depict what is hidden within it." Come have fun and experience the wonderful art of stone sculpting!!! www.shainesculpts.com Deposit - a $100.00 (nonrefundable) deposit must be paid by 10 days before this workshop for purchase of the stone. May 15,16,17,18 &19 (Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon & Tues) 10AM-4PM brown bag or go out for lunch. Class fee $450 includes all materials.
