Horseback Riding
by Jim Osterberg
Let your horse watch the trail while you enjoy the scenery. There are hundreds of mil;es of horse trails in Rocky Mountain National Park and Roosevelt National Forest. Elk don't seem to notice humans when they're riding a horse so you may get good wildwatch opportunities along the way!
The liveries below provide guides and horses in the summer and fall. Sombrero in Estes Park is open through most of the winter. Most ride into the National Park.
If you're bringing your own horse, llama, burro or mule. read the rules of the trail and check the ists of trails open to stock on our horse trails page.
