Rocky Mountain National Park Visitor's Guide

Snowmobiling

Mount Ida
Fall River
Frozen Lake
In the higher elevations of the National Forests, especially in Arapaho Notional Forest on the west side, winter snow conditions are excellent for snowmobiling. Snowmobiles are never allowed in wilderness areas. District offices can direct you to areas with reliable snow cover. Register your snowmobile with Colorado State Parks.

Rocky Mountain National Park allows snowmobiling on a two-mile stretch of the North Supply Access Trail in the southwest corner of the park. This trail connects the town of Grand Lake to a system of Arapaho National Forest trails adjacent to the Park, comprising approximately 300 miles of groomed trails in the Grand Lake area. Snowmobile rentals are widely available in Grand Lake.
