Everyone is always so excited to watch the elk rut in Estes Park, Colorado, I thought we'd send some new video, taken by my husband, Gary Hazelton just this morning, 9/16/08 in Estes Park. The elk are once again, running about in traffic and then down by Lake Estes and into the water... bugling and stealing cows and calves from the other bulls harems. We love our elk herds here in Estes Park and even have a BIG festival here in town on October 4 & 5. This will be the 10th Annual Elk Fest this year. At the festival, we give elk viewing tours, have bugling contests for the kids AND adults and just celebrate our wonderful wapiti! This video has LOTS of bugling, we watched at least 20 large bulls all vying for the same females. It is awesome! ...KristiH480
