The trail to Jewel Lake begins at the Glacier Gorge Trailhead. Jewel Lake is a small lake separated from Mills Lake by beaver dams. It is a marshy lake, so boardwalks have been installed along the trail to avoid the marshy sections. Moose have been spotted regularly around Jewel Lake.
Jewel Lake is not as well-known as Mills Lake. It's lined with thick trees & has few places to sit, so many people just pass on by. It is just 0.4 mile past Mills Lake on a fairly level but rocky trail with one short, steep pitch up and over to the lake.
